A game ready insect wizard character I made for the Rising Star competition!
I created the sculpt in ZBrush then used Maya for retopology and Substance Painter for texturing. I found it quite hard to use Unreal Engine as I had never used it before but really enjoyed the learning experience.
Overall I feel I did ok but looking at some of the other projects makes me feel like I under performed considerably, the project was still super fun and I really look forward to the feedback and next years competition!
I am currently a first year studying games development with a focus on 3D art at Falmouth University. My teachers told me about this competition and I felt that it would be a really fun challenge so I entered!
Having the chance to get my work judged by professionals will also be amazing as their feedback should help me improve drastically :D.
I understand that I am a first year with little knowledge of anatomy so probably wont win but the process has been fun and I relish any opportunity to let my creativity flow!
